I just received a question from a friend who was looking at our new website that has been up three or four days. I realized when I read my friend’s question that might be one in your mind too. The question was “Why does the new website use the word Dr. before my name?” Here’s why –
In 2001, I was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in theology before a large ceremony crowd in Baltimore Maryland. It was presented by Doctor Craig Lamb, the president of International University in Tulsa. It was presented to me on stage by Olympic runner Gladys Mims. I was the only one being honored that night. It was given to me for my 34 years of ministry and the results – more than 11,000 divorces canceled and more than 50,000 decisions for Christ – from my live Marriage Plus Seminars. And also for my weekly international television programs – Marriage Plus and Singles Plus – and for my international healing ministry. Sadly, it was at the end of that same year that I left my first wife and became a castaway for the next four and a half years. After that, I married Georgia and was restored to ministry after a year and a half of receiving ministry from the leaders of Bethel church in Redding, California – Pastors Bill Johnson, Danny Silk, and Kris Vallotton.
Before receiving the doctorate, I did some research to find that an honorary doctorate presented in this way is considered every bit as important as an earned doctorate at a university. I kidded at the time that I got my doctorate through The School Of Hard Knocks. Craig has remained a friend throughout my fall and restoration. I asked him whether I had lost the honorary doctorate when I lost my honor. He told me absolutely not. The doctorate is for a lifetime.
Larry decided my title should be on our new website because people should know of this honor. We also changed our website name – NOT my email address – of holy hugs to the reachmore title.
I’ve never known how to really react to receiving this honorary doctorate – the same kind of doctorate that my own pastor, Dr. Robert Morris, has. I do know that with my doctorate and three dollars, I can get a cup of coffee at Starbucks!

From the headquarters of reachmorenow.com in Fort Worth, Texas, this is Ray Mossholder and this is a special report: The Electoral College: Could it Change America’s Final Vote?
Some of you may have wondered why I have stayed so clear of the midterm elections that will take place November 4 throughout America. The reason I’ve mentioned nothing about it is because the decisions the voters will make this time are so clear-cut that I doubt they require any lengthy explanations from me.
A vote for the Republican candidate is a vote that declares “I am extremely unhappy with President Obama and I do not want the House or Senate to stand with him in the terrible decisions he is and has been making. I believe a Republican led House and Senate would give Republicans the power to stop Obama from continuing his bad decisions. ” Or it could mean “I prefer the Republican candidate over any of his or her opponents.”
A vote for the Democrat candidate is a vote that generally declares either “I am an Obama supporter and I definitely want to help him continue the changes he is making in America,” or “I’m voting for the better candidate when compared to any of his or her opponents.”
Of course, there are always dyed in the wool Republicans or Democrats who simply vote a straight party ticket no matter who is running. You must’ve heard the saying “The devil could get elected if he represented my political party.” And some presidents seem to have proved that point!
In nearly every state, Democrat candidates are clearly avoiding any connection with President Obama this time as much as if he was an Ebola virus carrier!
There are some Independents and Libertarians that will also be on the ballot in some states, but if any Libertarians win an election it will make headlines. In elections, Libertarian winners are nearly impossible to find. They, instead, are generally considered “spoilers” who garner just enough votes to affect the election results. The one exception to that could be Republican- Libertarian Rand Paul in 2016. A lot will happen between now and then that will determine the winner. I’ve heard the name Hillary Clinton bandied about by some Democrats who want one of their own to continue in the White House. And Hillary, for many, has the one qualification needed to win = she is a woman.
Anyone who should vote, already knows who they intend to vote for. I am not one of the roaring crowd that says every American adult citizen should vote. In fact, I urge those who by now know nothing about the candidates running, to stay home and not vote at all. Incumbents generally are voted back in by those who go into a voting booth and simply recognize their name. That’s tragic. I also urge those who are used to entering the voting booth and throwing darts at the ballot. Then voting for wherever it sticks. Please stay home too. The issues facing America today are far too serious for any kind of lackadaisical non-thinking voter to mess it up.
But on this report I’m going to bypass the midterm and concentrate on the 2016 presidential election. Let’s look at something that by far the most voters never think of when they cast their ballots – the electoral college – because it is the ultimate decider in any modern-day election.
It may surprise you to know that our founding fathers did not have much faith in the wisdom of the largely uneducated people of America who were living in their time. So they set up the electoral college to act as a game-changer in case the people – in their mind – voted wrong.
Any vote you cast during a presidential election is a vote not entirely for your chosen candidate, but for your electors in your state to consider your vote seriously and yet not be legally bound by it. After all official votes are counted, the electors of your state will still be the ones who will determine how they will cast their votes in the Electoral College.
And all electoral voters are not created equal. The amount of electors for each state is determined by the size of the population in each state. For example, California has 55 electoral voters, but Rhode Island has only 4. That’s why many people believe today that the Electoral College should be done away with so that the candidate with the most votes from the combined total of all the states would be elected without the electoral college existing to have any say at all. That popular thinking is called “the popular vote.”
Technically, each elector from all fifty states has made a promise that they will vote for the presidential candidate that wins the popular vote of their state, but promises can be broken. The federal law does not demand it. A maverick elector could decide to vote for the candidate of their choice rather than for the popular winner and there would be no law against that. There is a name for an elector who would do that. They are called a “faithless elector”.
24 states do have a law that discourages the elector from doing such a thing. But in 23 of those states, all except Michigan, the electors vote would stand. Michigan is the only state that would void such a faithless elector’s vote. 26 states have no law at all regarding this kind of situation and the electors are as free as they choose to be.

When Grover Cleveland overwhelmingly won the national popular vote in 1888, the Electoral College did go rogue and gave the election to the man who they wanted in office – Benjamin Harrison. And though there was lots of hooping and hollering nationwide, the law was on the Electoral College’s side. Benjamin Harrison became president. That could happen again at any time.

Even more ironic was the plight of Andrew Jackson.

Jackson won both the nationwide popular vote AND the Electoral College vote in 1824. But he did not win the majority of Electoral College votes. Therefore he lost even though he had won! The law of the land said, as it does today, that in such a case the vote is to be decided by the House of Representatives. They voted for John Quincy Adams who then became president of the United States.
In Washington DC today, millions of dollars are given under the table so that America’s citizens never know it’s happened. With the vast fortune that both parties need to win any election today, it is not inconceivable that one of the top echelon of government could buy an elector’s vote. What would you do if you were offered a million dollars to cast a vote as a faithless elector? That would be at least a somewhat tempting offer, wouldn’t it? And there are enough morally bankrupt people in our nation who would be glad to do it for less so that they could give you “the best president money could buy!”

I have just one question as I begin this news report. Are we still living in America? I ask because the rule of law in our nation is being turned on its head. The United States Constitution, like the Ten Commandments, is now at the bottom of many American birdcages. Three judges in any state, and sometimes only one, has the ability to trash a statewide vote by American citizens. As an example, it only took a three judges to overturn Proposition 8, which, in ultra–liberal California, had a majority vote of its citizens, statewide, telling the authorities to stop gay marriage there.
As I write this report, I want to make it clear that I am not a homophobe. Not long ago, I sat very comfortably at a dinner table with a teenager who still couldn’t figure out whether they were male or female. That confusion is being forced on the children and teenagers of our entire nation because, like the three judges, polls are supposed to be telling us that America really wants gay rights. If that is true, though polls can be limited by knowing the ideologies in advance of the people who are polled or by other dishonest manipulation of results, I will simply tell you that this isn’t the nation I grew up in. Many believe that is a good thing. And who am I to rain on their parade? I wish gays no harm, though AIDS today is a far greater plague than I believe Ebola will ever be in our country and it continues to spread wildly.
Bill Keith in his excellent Bill Keith Report and Commentary shares the stunning fact that more than 1 in 3 Americans today have a venereal disease. If I could stop that for them, I would. I can only imagine how terrible it must be for most of them once they are carrying a hideous disease. And if you ask me where God is in all this, I will remind you that He was ordered out of America’s school system many years ago and He is being ordered out of most everything else that has to do with the American public.
The rule of thumb that the people of our nation used to be taught to live by was that your freedom only stops at my nose. In other words, if you want to punch the lights out of me, you have no right to do it – at least no legal right.
The question of course is: Do the words “legal” or “illegal” mean anything at all today in America? “Illegal” aliens, for example, are being given the red carpet treatment by our president, by the governor of California, and by millions of Americans throughout our nation. In fact, they can get a multitude of benefits and a constant flow of free money that I can’t get because I’m not “illegal!”
This report is not about gays or about illegal aliens. It has to do with the thought police – in this case, the mayor and city Council of Houston, Texas. I excuse the news media for by and large not mentioning this because this is a huge news day that is keeping them busier than ants at a picnic. And for those who aren’t Christians, this story may not seem as important to them as ISIL or Ebola are. But if you are a Christian listening to or reading this newscast, I ask you to concentrate and think hard about what this happening may soon mean to your church and the churches of America wherever you or they are. What does bother me is that out of eleven sources I use to find any news pertaining to Christians, only one ran this story. Breakthrough Christian News, in fact, made it their headline. I congratulate them for that.
In June of this year, the mayor and city Council of Houston, Texas, passed a totally controversial ordinance that is being called “the bathroom bill.” It declares that public bathrooms in restaurants, hotels, or any other public place are free for either males or females to use. This is not a transgender ordinance, but a public rights issue affecting everyone.
Here’s what’s happening: The citizens of Houston submitted more than three times the legally required amount of petitions that asked that either the ordinance be overturned or that it be placed on a voter’s ballot so that the entire city could decide on it. The city secretary whose job it is to examine and certify petitions agreed with the petitioners that they had met all necessary qualifications to be counted. But the lesbian mayor of Houston who is married to a woman and ran on a gender equality platform, and the city attorney, said the law be damned and threw out the certification.
And now the mayor and the attorney have gone further. They have subpoenaed all pastors in the city of Houston to give them any sermons they have preached on any issues related to homosexuality, lesbianism, gays or transgender’s. They also are ordering the pastors to tell the Council about any communications with their church members that included reference to these issues.
Attorneys for Alliance Defending Freedom have now filed a motion in a Texas court to stop the subpoenas. They argue that the a pastor or visiting speaker are constitutionally protected and so is all conversation with members or nonmembers of the church. Senior Legal Counsel Erik Stanley said “City Council members are supposed to be public servants, not ‘Big Brother’ overlords who will tolerate no dissent or challenge. In this case, they have embarked upon a witchhunt, and we are asking the court to put a stop to it. The city’s subpoena of sermons is both needless and unprecedented. The city council and its attorneys are engaging in an inquisition designed to stifle any critique of its actions. Political and social commentary is not a crime; it is protected by the First Amendment.”
The ADF brief accompanying their motion which was filed in the District Court of Harris County says that the city council’s request of the pastors is “overbroad, unduly burdensome, harassing and vexatious” and if the council is allowed to pursue it it will have a profoundly negative effect on free speech and the entire electoral process.
The ADF brief continues “The message is clear: Oppose the decisions of city government and drown in unwarranted, burdensome discovery requests. These requests if allowed, will have a chilling effect on future citizens who might consider circulating referendum petitions because they are dissatisfied with ordinances passed by the City Council. Not only will the nonparty Pastors be harmed if these discovery requests are allowed, but the People will suffer as well. The referendum process will become toxic, and the People will be deprived of an important check on city government provided them by the Charter.”
My point in making this report is to urge all Christians and especially their pastors to realize that if this subpoena is allowed by the courts to continue then city councils will have the power to censor all Christian pastors and Christians themselves in America very soon. Christian rights, the Constitution, and the Ten Commandments will stay at the bottom of the birdcages and our Christian freedoms will be lost.

Student loans debt this year hit a record high of $1.2 trillion.

Government accountants report that the feds can’t find $619 billion that is missing from 302 federal programs. They say the taxpayer money was either misused, wasted or just missing.
Walmart will drop 30,000 part-time employees from their healthcare coverage because of an estimated $500 million rise in insurance costs due to Obamacare. Target, Home Depot and several others will do the same.
Aides Knew of Possible White House Link to Prostitution
Remember the Cartagena, Colombia, prostitution scandal? That was back in 2012 when two dozen Secret Service agents and members of the military were involved with prostitutes before President Obama arrived there for a visit.
The President vowed that no White House personnel were involved. But this week the Washington Post reported documents reveal that a prostitute did spend the night with a presidential advance-team member.
The Post also noted that senior White House aides knew of the link to the prostitute but kept it covered up.
David Nieland, the lead investigator on the Colombia case, said, “We were directed at the time…to delay the report of the (White House) investigation until after the 2012 election.”
110 Million Americans Have STDs
Anyone who has been wide awake the past few years realizes the United States has become a sexual nuthouse where people worship at the altar of the cheap orgasm in this hedonistic culture of decay.
Now we learn that 110 million people in this land have STDs — Sexually Transmitted Diseases. That’s just over one-third of the people.
“While the national media focus on the Ebola outbreak in West Africa…the CDC is reminding Americans that sexually transmitted diseases are an ongoing but hidden epidemic,” CBS reports.
CDC officials say that some 20 million cases of new STD infections are reported each year, according to Live Science. “Since infections can persist for a long time, and because some victims are not even aware they have a disease they can easily spread it to others.”
About 50.5 million current infections are in men and 59.5 million in women, according to CBS.
Officials note the diseases include gonorrhea, genital herpes, HIV or AIDS, syphilis and others.
Some 50 percent of new infections occur in young people ages 15-24 and gonorrhea is the most commonly reported.
“New cases of STDs cost nearly $16 billion a year in direct medical costs…” CBS pointed out.
Comment: This data really shouldn’t surprise anyone since we live in a sex-crazed culture. Movies, videos, television, the Internet, magazines, billboards, and rap music reek with sexual content that pervades our society, particularly among young people who watch the depraved MTV. The ACLU has fought for allowing all advertising/TV/movies with heavy sexual content and the U. S. Supreme Court has approved every kind of depravity imaginable.
Christians are not completely blameless. We have hidden behind stained-glass windows and under the pews and failed to confront this culture of decay. It’s time for Christian people to stand up and say, “Enough is enough — we’re going to work and pray and once again become salt and light in our land.”
American Troops to Africa: Doublespeak
When President Obama announced he was sending 3,000 American troops to Africa to try to control the outbreak of Ebola, he said no troops would come into direct contact with the virus.
However, General David Rodriguez said U.S. soldiers would work alongside Liberian troops in medical labs that will test people for Ebola. General Rodriguez is commander of the U. S. Africa Command.
“If one of the U.S. troops develops symptoms of Ebola, they will be…returned to the United States in specially designed aircraft designed to isolate the disease,” the General said. “Any U.S. troops that develop Ebola will be brought in the United States to one of the medical centers that is specially designed to handle Ebola patients.”
However, the Obama administration confused the issue and insisted our troops would not be in direct contact with suspected Ebola victims.
Comment: It amazes me that the President refuses to send troops to the border with Mexico to control illegals, yet has offered to send 3,000 troops to Africa to help the people there. Doctors still don’t know the extent of the danger of this deadly virus, whether it is airborne or how long it lingers. Yet the President is willing to place our troops in harm’s way. It’s a terrible mistake.
Benghazi: Now We Know the Truth
Americans have short memories, but does anyone remember Benghazi? Our Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed there.
Since it was just before the presidential election, the White House concocted a story that the men died because of a YouTube video that made fun of Mohammed. White House spokesman Susan Rice went on talk shows to spread the false report. President Obama also said it was because of the video as did Hillary Clinton.
This week, former CIA Director Leon Panetta said that on the night the Americans died in Benghazi, he told President Obama that terrorists killed them.
“We told the president that there’s an attack that’s going on, that terrorists are involved in the attack, and, as a result, we have to respond to it,” Panetta said. However, the President did not respond and four Americans died.
Comment: I don’t know how the President, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton can look at the American people with a straight face. They have used one deception after another to hide their lack of leadership both foreign and domestic.

Note to Reader: With these and a few other cutbacks, the federal government would save $2.5 trillion in 10 years.
Comment: How on earth did all these programs ever get into the federal budget? And why do the members of Congress want to keep them? Are some of these pet projects the congressmen want to keep?
Remember, most of the above-mentioned are annual costs.
AMAC Demands End to Social Security Double-Tax
Hooray for the Association of Mature American Citizens — the alternative to AARP — for working on behalf of senior citizens to do away with double taxation on social security checks.
“The money is yours. You earned it. You need it. The government has no right to it,” an AMAC spokesman said.
AMAC explains that anyone collecting Social Security with a combined income of more than $33,000 must pay a tax on the income — a tax the person has already paid.
“You were taxed when your money went in — and now you are being taxed again when your money is returned to you,” the spokesman explained.
Comment: I have been writing articles and writing to my congressmen for years about the dishonesty of double taxation on our Social Security earnings. But, to date, I’ve found little interest — other than in AMAC — in rectifying the problem.
Congress voted to tax Social Security earnings during the Clinton administration. The law passed by only one vote.
Commentary
President Obama: Broken Promises, Broken Trust
A lot of democrats are scratching their heads and wondering why President Obama — who once seemed to have so much promise — is now the most unpopular president in recent history. Poll after poll reveals that the American people no longer trust him.
And I’m not surprised. I did some research on all the promises he has made to the American people, promises that were broken. Here’s what I found.
Ebola will never reach the U.S. (Yet people are already dying here).
ISIS is just a junior varsity group. (Yet the terrorist group has conquered a number of Iraqi cities).
The terrorists in the world have been defeated. (But they are stronger today than when Obama took office six years ago).
Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the American people will be able to keep the doctors of their choice. (This is already proven false).
Under ACA, people will be able to keep your health insurance. (Tens of thousands have lost their health insurance).
Under ACA, the cost of insurance will never go up. (But insurance costs are going up dramatically all across the land).
Under ACA, each family will save $2,500. (People are not saving, they are paying more),
The ACA will not provide funds for abortions. (This also has been proven to be false).
Illegals will not be eligible for ACA healthcare. (Government officials admit there is no way to keep illegals from signing up for Obamacare).
The border with Mexico is secure. (Hundreds of thousands of illegals have come into this land during the Obama administration and the border is wide open).
In Benghazi, Americans died because of a YouTube video. (This week former CIA Director Leon Panetta said that on the night the American ambassador and three others died, he told the President it was terrorists).

He promised to cut the national debt in half by the end of his first term. (The national debt has risen more during his watch than at any time in history and now is approaching $17 trillion).
He said his administration would be the most transparent administration in history.(Yet most journalists agree it is the least transparent in history)
The IRS is not targeting anyone. (Yet the IRS has repeatedly refused to turn over documents to congress and give the lame excuse that their computers lost all the information).
He promised to put an end to politics that breed division. (Yet he has repeatedly played the race card to divide Americans).
Said he knew nothing about Fast and Furious, the gun-running to Mexican drug cartels. (His closest friend AG Eric Holder authorized it and it’s inconceivable he didn’t discuss it with the president).
“I, Barack Hussein Obama, pledge to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.” Really?
