To Addlyn from your Greatgrandpa. Welcome aboard. I love you already.

To Addlyn from your Greatgrandpa. Welcome aboard. I love you already.

Addlyn Jean Langlois has just been born. These are pictures of my son, David, and his precious wife, Karla, celebrating. Isn’t this baby beautiful? Her mom is doing great too. My wonderful Aunt Devee Dockham “just happened” to have sent me this life story about being on a train at the exact time Addlyn was being born. Nothing in life is really a coincidence and now that Addlyn is aboard, I dedicate this to her. I love YOU BIGtime Addlyn, Greatgrandpa

At birth we board the train and discover what love is,

and we believe those who love us will always travel by our side.

However, at some station

each one will more than likely step down from the train,

leaving us on this journey by ourself.

As days go by,

other people will board the train;

and they will be significant –

our bothers, sisters, friends, children,

and even the love of your life.

Many of them will step down from the train

and you’ll always remember them with a kind of ache in your heart.

Others will go unnoticed,

so unnoticed that you won’t even realize

they vacated their seats.

Your train ride will be full of joy,

sorrow, fantasy, imagination, expectations,

hugs, hellos, goodbyes, and wondering why some of them had to get off the train so quickly.

Happiness consists of having a good relationship

with all the passengers you find friendly,

and success requires that you overlook their flaws unless you’re thinking about marrying them!

The mystery to everyone is:

We do not know at which station

we ourselves will step down.

So, we’ve got to have our ticket to heaven ready at any time –

the ticket that the Great Engineer bought for us with His blood

and gave us free.

While we’re still on the tracks, we need to laugh, love, forgive, play fair, and pray.

And we need to search until we discover why our Engineer put us on this train in the first place.

We’ll only discover our purpose when we find ourselves doing the things that make us happy

and that we know makes the Engineer happy too. That’s the key.

It is important to do those things as long as you can

because when the time comes for us to step down

and leave our seats empty

we should leave behind beautiful memories

for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

Be sure you’ve told them Who the Engineer is

and try with your whole heart to introduce each passenger to Him,

especially the ones sitting near you.

I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life.

Prosper in the joy of Christ and you will be rich no matter how much or little money you have.

Remember, the Engineer will provide all your needs according to His riches in glory so don’t worry.

Lastly, I thank you

for being one of the extra special passengers on my train.

(By the way, I am not planning to get off the train anytime soon

but if I do, just remember I am SO glad you were a part of my journey.)

Greatgrandpa

How To Break Free - Ray

HOW TO BREAK FREE   by Ray Mossholder

Are you realizing that the Christian life is a bed of roses with thorns? We live in a real world with hell happening all around us and sometimes to us. That’s because the god of this world is the devil (2 Corinthians 4:3–4). Only when we are born again by receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:8–11) do we begin an  ongoing relationship with the real God and start walking the eternal road to Heaven even if it takes a long, long time to get there. On this planet that “long, long time” is called life!

The god of this world doesn’t leave when you become a Christian. In fact, he hates you most when you give your life to Christ and afterward. He will do anything to try to make you stumble, to make you sin, to, at least however long, short-circuit God’s great plan for your life here. Here’s the good news: the devil and his demons can’t make you do anything you don’t agree to do. Christ is right there for you to call on and have Him strengthen you and give you the victory over sin, satan, and self.

And remember something vital that the god of this world desperately wants you to forget: Your sins are forgiven as a Christian – past, present and future. So if you get yourself into a mess, He’s already forgiven you for it. Just call on Him to work with you and get you out of the mess. Messes hurt everyone around you and most of all yourself no matter how good they feel at certain moments (Hebrews 11:25). The devil works through illusion and deceives through seduction. His goal is to blow your mind literally.

Never sell your birthright for a pot of porridge (Genesis 25:29-34). Never stop believing in God and His only begotten Son (John 3;16-18) Instead, “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession (that Jesus Christ is our Lord). For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace (“grace” = Absolutely undeserved favor and kindness) so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:14–16)

Been there.  Done that.  I’m free.  So will you be.  Ray
