10 The Mystery of the Shemitah

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/billions_lost.jpg

THE MYSTERY OF SEVEN CRASHES. What happens if we search for the greatest long-term crashes (as opposed to day crashes) or collapses in stock market history? These will generally be connected to economic crisis and recession. What happens if we take the Bible’s ancient mystery of economic cessation and financial nullification and hold it up against these great collapses?

The following represent the majority of the greatest long-term stock market crashes in history, arranged in order of increasing magnitude:

THE CRASH OF 2000-2001 The Dot–Com Crash and 9/11

This stock market collapse began with the “Dot-Com Crash” of 2000-2001. Then came 9/11, which would first paralyze Wall Street and then cause further deterioration. The collapse would continue into 2002. By the time it ended, more than 37% of the stock market had been wiped out.

\Could there be any connection between the crash of 2000 and 2001 and the ancient mystery? The Shemitah comes once every seven years. It just so happens that the first Shemitah of the new millennium fell in the period of 2000-2001, the years of the Dot-Com Crash, a deepening recession, the attack of 9/11, and one of the greatest stock market day crashes in history. The Shemitah year took place entirely within the overall financial and economic collapse. It’s overlap with the crash of 2000-2001 is thus 100%.

Chapter 8 Fifth Key: The Tishri Connection

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Praying_in_the_Synagogue_on_Yom_Kippur-e1376483648236-300x236-1.jpg

Chapter 8 Fifth Key: The Tishri Connection

The holiest month on the biblical Hebrew calendar is that of Tishri. On the Western calendar Tishri falls in the period between September and October. It is so sacred a month that ten of its days are known as “the High Holy Days.” Every Hebrew month begins with the day or night of the new moon. But the month of Tishri is so sacred that the day on which it begins, it’s new moon is itself a high holy day. Most Hebrew months contain none of the sacred appointed holy days given at Sinai. But Tishri contains ten of them, not including at least nine other days also deemed as holy. Thus there is no month in the biblical year like Tishri. What are its themes, its meaning, and his message?

The month of Tishri is also known as the time of judgment. It’s opening day, the Feast of Trumpets, is also known as Yom Ha Din, or “the Day of Judgment.” During the Feast of Trumpets the shofars are sounded. The sound of the shofar is not only that of a solemn gathering but is the sound of alarm and warning, the harbinger of approaching danger, the warning of impending judgment. Tishri is the month of reckoning, when the nation stands before God and when sin is dealt with.

In view of the judgment associated with this coming, Tishri has become the month of repentance. The “Ten Days of Awe” with which the month begins are also called “The Days of Teshova.” Teshovah” is the Hebrew word  for repentance. It comes from the root word shuv, which means “to turn. The Days of Awe were given for the purpose of turning the course of one’s life, forgiving and being forgiven, repenting of one’s sins, withdrawing from worldly pursuits, and doing whatever was needed to get right with man and God.

Chapter 7 Fourth Key: The Secret Israel

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/plymouth_pilgrims.jpg

Chapter 7 Fourth Key: The Secret Israel

In its first and original context the Shemitah is connected to Israel. It is the only nation commanded to observe it. And, as we have seen, it is still kept, in varying degrees, by the observance of that nation. But we are not dealing here with the Shemitah as an observance but as a prophetic sign – particularly as a warning or manifestation of national judgment.

Such a prophetic sign could be given to any nation as long as that nation in some way matched the description or shared the attributes of ancient Israel in 586 BC. In other words, it would have to be:

A nation warranting a prophetic warning or manifestation of judgment, a nation in defiance of God’s ways.

This description could, to varying degrees, fit much of the world’s nations – whether religious or secular, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or communist. Let’s narrow it down further with this more specific description:

A nation that had once known God, but had now turned away from Him and rejected His ways.

This description could match several of the worlds Western nations, formerly seen as “Christian” but now largely post-Christian. Let’s narrow it down still further:

A civilization established on the Word of God, dedicated to His purposes, and consecrated to His glory from its very inception.

Now the field of candidates is severely reduced. It can be argued that only two civilizations in human history were established, dedicated, and consecrated to the will, the word, the purposes, and the glory of God from the moment of their conceptions. The first was Israel; the second was America.

American civilization was established and dedicated at Cape Henry, Plymouth, and Massachusetts Bay to the purposes of God.

The Mystery of the Shemitah by Jonathan Cahn – Chapter 6

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/download-3.jpg

THE THIRD KEY: THE PROPHETIC MANIFESTATION – According to the Book of 2 Chronicles, the mystery of the Shemitah was operating behind one of the most pivotal events in world history, the destruction of the kingdom in 586 BC. But what if the mystery was still in effect? Or what if it was to manifest again in the modern world? What if it was operating right now, still touching, affecting, determining, or altering the course of human history in modern times? What would that look like?

In modern economies a very small percentage of people work the land, gather in harvests or tend vineyards. So how could the Shemitah break the barrier to operate in the modern world? What happens if we look at the effects and consequences of the Shemitah in purely technical and general terms?

The result is not only relevant but also surprisingly applicable to our day: the effect and repercussions of the Shemitah extend into the nation’s financial realm, economic realm, and the realms of labor, employment, production, consumption, and trade.

Though most modern economies are not centered on agriculture but our industrial and postindustrial, all of these attributes still apply. Thus if the Shemitah was to manifest in modern times, it would affect a nation’s financial realm, it’s economic realm, and it’s realms of labor, employment, production, consumption, and trade.

The Mystery of the Shemitah – 5 – The Judgment Sign

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/exile-300x239.jpg

The prophet walks in the midst of the ruins of the fallen city. What was once the capital of his nation, the city of kings and princes, now lies in ashes and rubble. The streets are desolate. The city upon which rested the name and glory of God is destroyed. The land of Zion is left desolate.

He had not been silent. He had sounded the alarm and warned his nation, over and over and over again. But they had rejected the warning and the bearer of that warning. They persecuted him and placed him in prison. And then the calamity of which he had long prophesied finally happened. The kingdom was no more. Gone was the Temple. Gone were the priests. Gone was the nation he had known and loved.

The year was 586 BC. The city was Jerusalem. The kingdom was Judah. And the prophet was named “Yirmayahu” or, as he would later be known too much of the world, Jeremiah. He wept not only for the city and the land but also for his people. The city was desolate. It’s fields were abandoned. Men, women, and children were taken captive into exile in a land of those who had wrought the destruction. Now, by the rivers of Babylon, they sat down and wept.

Jonathan Cahn – The Mystery of the Shemitah with Sid Roth

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/maxresdefault-2.jpg

It must be obvious to you that Jonathan Cahn is risking being called a fraud if what he is saying in his book I’m reading on reachmorenow.com doesn’t happen. If Jonathan is wrong and 2015 is a great year for America, his prophetic word will come under extreme question. But since Jonathan is an American, he undoubtedly would rather be verbally stoned than to have his nation fall apart.

Though I’m reading his book to you, I thought it would be good to have Jonathan tell you the heart of what he is saying in that book so that as I continue reading it you will be able to clearly understand what he is saying. When I discovered that Sid Roth interviewed Jonathan because of the urgency of this matter, I knew you should hear what Jonathan says firsthand. Here it is….–Ray

The Mystery of the Shemitah Chapters 2 and 3

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/e6ac4f19e3144e2b03cea7424f2958f0.jpg

Could God send a warning as He did to people and nations of the modern world? The Bible reveals a clear pattern: before judgment, God warns. In the days of ancient Israel God sent warning of impending national judgment through varied means, through visions, through dreams, through audible voices, through prophetic utterances, through signs, through the written word, through prophetic acts, through supernatural occurrences, and through the outworking of natural events.

The Bible states that God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We must therefore conclude that not only can God send a prophetic warning into the modern world but also, where judgment is concerned, He will send warning. So in the case of a nation standing in danger of impending calamity or destruction, we can expect that such warning will be given, and in a way consistent with those given in biblical times.

The Mystery of the Shemitah Chapter 1 – A Mystery of 3000 Years

http://reachmorenow.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/2015_new_year.jpg

Jonathan Cahn has written another great book – a book of prophecy, dealing with things that will happen within the next couple of years. Jonathan always stresses that prayer can change things. But this book will open your eyes to the future and what there is to pray about. Join me as we explore what the Bible tells us is right around the corner.

Jonathan Cahn’s first book “The Harbinger” has sold many millions of copies worldwide. “The Mystery of the Shemitah” is already doing the same. I have narrated the entire book “The Harbinger” and you will find it under audiobooks on reachmorenow.com -Ray
