Temperatures on earth have increased approximately 1.4°F since the early 20th century. Over this time period, atmospheric levels of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) have notably increased. Both sides in the debate surrounding global climate change agree on these points.
The pro side argues rising levels of atmospheric greenhouse gases are a direct result of human activities such as burning fossil fuels, and that these increases are causing significant and increasingly severe climate changes including global warming, loss of sea ice, sea level rise, stronger storms, and more droughts. They contend that immediate international action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is necessary to prevent dire climate changes.
The con side argues human-generated greenhouse gas emissions are too small to substantially change the earth’s climate and that the planet is capable of absorbing those increases. They contend that warming over the 20th century resulted primarily from natural processes such as fluctuations in the sun’s heat and ocean currents. They say the theory of human-caused global climate change is based on questionable measurements, faulty climate models, and misleading science.
On Feb. 16, 1938 engineer Guy S. Callendar published an influential study suggesting increased atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuel combustion was causing global warming. [127] Many scientists at that time were skeptical of Callendar’s conclusion, arguing that that natural fluctuations and atmospheric circulation changes determined the climate, not CO2 emissions.

In Mar. 1958 US climate scientist Charles Keeling began measuring atmospheric CO2 at the Mauna Loa observatory in Hawaii for use in climate modeling. Using these measurements, Keeling became the first scientist to confirm that atmospheric CO2 levels were rising rather than being fully absorbed by forests and oceans (carbon sinks). When Keeling began his measurements, atmospheric CO2 levels stood at 315 parts per million (ppm).

Bad News Concerning Air Travel Safety
At least 73 people linked to terrorism-related activities made it through the Transportation Security Administration screening and were hired by airlines even though they were on terrorist watch lists, Newsmax reports.
The new information comes a week after media reports that TSA also failed to detect mock explosives and weapons when tested by undercover agents.
Comment: This is frightening. This means two things. First, there are employees working for the airlines that have been linked to terrorist activities. Second, during a sting operation, TSA employees failed to detect weapons and even dynamite being carried through security and onto airplanes.
We all must wake up to the fact that Washington just doesn’t know how to run anything.
Fox Entertainment: Have You No Shame?
Last week we reported that Fox Entertainment plans to debut its new show entitled “Lucifer” as the Parents Television Council warns that a “darkness has settled over American television.”
“Lucifer” is a new drama where the Devil comes out of hell to Los Angeles and opens a trendy nightclub. “It stars Tom Ellis as the devil and is loosely base on the DC Comic ‘The Sandman’,” PTC explains.
However, Fox News TV Host Kimberly Guilfoyle tells Newsmax that she will never watch Fox Broadcasting’s new series “Lucifer” and will not let her 8-year-old son watch it, either.
Fox Broadcasting is a separate division from Fox News Channel.
PTC also warned television viewers about Fox’s “Golan” a cartoon, PTC says, is totally inappropriate for children on Sunday nights. The cartoon is about “a sadistic, sex-crazed demon befriending a little girl, massacring her classmates, and sexually groping her mother, over the publicly-owned airwaves in prime time.”
According to PTC, last week’s program had 1.2-million viewers and almost one-third were children.
Comment: To me, it is an anomaly that Fox News Channel — which is quite conservative — and Fox Broadcasting — which is corrupt to the core — can coexist. Both are owned by staunch conservative Rupert Murdock, an Australian who was raised in a faithful Presbyterian family.
Relief Advocate: Christians Ignoring Suffering of Mideast Brethren
Today’s Christian church in America is ignoring the suffering of Christians in the Middle East, just as some German Christians ignored the Nazi persecution of the Jews during World War II.
So says Juliana Taimoorazy, president of the Iraqi Relief Council and reported by Newsmax.
“There is a real genocide that is unfolding in front of our eyes,” she said. “So what is it that forces us to remain silent?”
She told Newsmax that groups such as ISIS have been involved in the mass slaughter of Christians, burning them alive and beheading them as they try to set up a Muslim-only caliphate around the world.
She said the Christians in Germany closed their ears to the suffering of Jews under Nazi rule “singing louder at church to drown out the cries.”
According to Taimmoorazy, there are several reasons for the current silence among American Christians.
She says that many Christians think that if they “close their eyes, close their ears, it’s going to go away and it’s not going to go away.”
“Children are being sold into sex slavery (by ISIS)…there are women who are being raped every day…This is a human tragedy.”
Comment: It comes as no surprise to me that the Christian community in this land has no concerted, organized effort to help the Christians who are suffering in the Middle East. Most Christians won’t even take a stand in the culture war here at home and just stand aside as we see the greatest cultural paradigm shift in our history taking place. And the silence among Christians is deafening.
At Last, Good News for the Unborn
Remember when the pro-abortion crowd chanted “Hail Satan, Hail Satan” in the chambers of the Texas Legislature in Austin?
They wanted to shut down the Legislature and stop it from banning late-term abortions in the state, according to Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice. “They failed.”
So they challenged parts of the pro-life law in court but, again, the abortion zealots failed, Sekulow said.
“This week a federal appeals court held, ‘In plain terms (this pro-life law) may be applied throughout Texas,"” Sekulow said.
According to Sekulow, this law will have a great impact in Texas as many abortion clinics will be shut down. “It is estimated that this law could save 10,000 babies’ lives in Texas alone.”
Now Sekulow and his organization are working with Congress to pass a similar law nationwide. “The late-term abortion ban – stopping abortions when babies feel pain — has already passed the House with bipartisan support.”
Signs of the Times: Christian Pastors and Same-Sex Marriage
Coeur d’ Alene, a city in Idaho, has laid down the law to Christian pastors — either perform same-sex marriages for homosexuals or face a fine and jail time, the Washington Times reports.
The ordinance by the city council comes on the heels of a federal judge’s ruling that the state’s ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional, the Timesreported.
Failure to comply with the ordinance could land a pastor in jail for 180 days and force him/her to pay a $1,000 fine.
Comment: So the insanity continues. Is there no longer a concept of religious freedom where we Christians are not forced to do those things that violate our consciences? The good people of Idaho voted overwhelmingly like some 61 percent to uphold traditional marriage. Then one federal judge said all the people were wrong and he was right and he struck down their traditional marriage vote.
Obama, America’s Neighborhoods and His Utopian Society
Americans can remain silent no longer. President Obama now has plans to transform the elite neighborhoods of our land in his quest for an utopian society, according to Vision to America.
“President Obama is pressing forward with regulations to diversify wealthy neighborhoods…an irrational way of advancing the White House’s own vision of an utopian society,” Vision reports.
According to Vision, the feds through the Department of Housing and Urban Development could withhold block grants to all communities if they don’t build enough so-called affordable housing in wealthy neighborhoods.
“HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” a spokesman for the federal agency said. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access…in communities…”
Comment: Wake up Americans! Now Obama is coming for your neighborhoods! He plans to target the upscale neighborhoods in major cities and build low-income housing, basically for minorities, in those neighborhoods.
Just as Bill O’Reilly said this week, none would object to minorities living in these neighborhoods. But they should be there because they worked hard and made enough money to purchase homes in those communities.
Hooray for Texas! Protection for Pastors
Remember when Anise Parker, Houston’s lesbian mayor, tried to silence Christian ministers in the city?
She urged the City Council to pass an ordinance that would make it a serious criminal penalty for any Christian pastor who preached the biblical view of homosexuality.
However, the Texas Legislature this week passed a law signed by Gov. Gregg Abbott that protects Texas pastors from being forced to perform homosexual weddings that violate their religious beliefs. Also, the pastors cannot be forced to provide services, accommodations, facilities, goods or privileges for any homosexual marriage, according to Texas Values.
“Despite strong opposition from some Democrats and from the LGBT advocacy groups…the bill passed with overwhelming majorities in the Texas House and Senate…” Texas Values said.
Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values, made the following statement:
“Today we honor pastors and clergy who are guided by their sincerely held religious beliefs and assure them that Texas stands firm on religious freedom without government interference.”
Comment: I have yet to hear any response from Mayor Parker.
A Global Warming Menagerie
Think about it. President Obama, former Vice President Al Gore, Hillary Clinton and hosts of scientists in academia all sound the alarm. They say we are doomed if we don’t do something about man-made global warming.
If it’s too hot — global warming. Too cold — global warming. Hurricanes — global warming. No hurricanes — global warming. Drought in California — global warming. Heavy rains in Texas — global warming.
The President says there is no question that it is settled science. Gore said a few years ago that we only have 10 years to live.
But here we are — still alive.
These doomsayers should just listen to themselves and how foolish they sound to the rest of us.
Some 30,000 scientists signed a paper saying Obama and Gore and all the scientists who are trying to scare us into spending trillions of dollars to solve the so-called problem are on the wrong side of true science.
Something to Think About
The Heritage Foundation has given us some food for thought.
“Your freedom is slipping away as Washington’s power grows. You freedom is undermined by a more intrusive government, which increasingly dictates how you run your life. The principles of America’s Founding have never been more at risk.
“Washington is taking over your health care. Encouraging illegal immigration as a political force to suppress your freedom. Raising your taxes. Enslaving your family by a national debt. Coddling dictators and gutting our national defenses.”

Biggest Construction Failure in VA History
VA Turns to Taxpayers for Bailout
Although the project is already $1 billion over budget and has become the “biggest construction failure” in the history of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the VA has just received $100 million in new funding, according to the American Prosperity Network.
“Even worse, the $100 million is barely enough to keep the construction project going for another three weeks,” the Network reported.
ABC news reported that “Construction will continue on a new veterans medical center near Denver, expected to serve 400,000 former military service members and their families…” but also noted that “contractors had prepared to stop work on the project as approved funding dried up after repeated overruns and delays.”
When the project began in 2005, it was to cost just $328 million but now it has grown to $1.73 billion and will take several more years to complete, the Network reported.
Comment: All of us want the best possible medical care for our veterans and their families. But we often wonder: Who is looking out for taxpayers and watching our money for us? Apparently no one. This Reportrepeatedly documents these kinds of poor planning and waste. Yet nothing ever seems to be done about it. The answer to most every problem in Washington is “more money.”

Most Democrats Believe Illegal aliens should vote in American elections.
The United States has already taken in one-fourth of Mexico’s entire population — and maybe a lot more.
Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard said this week:”Our Founding Fathers never intended for us to have a professional political class.” ~~ Deaths, gang activity surge as illegal aliens flood border, 30,000 expected.
Marco Rubio said this week homosexual same-sex marriage is a “clear and present danger to Christianity.”
Scientists confirm there has been no global warming in the past 28 years. Common Core Curriculum teaches kindergarten through grade 12 that global warming is man-made but does not teach that 30,000 scientists signed a declaration that global warming is just a lot of hot air.
Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state and the Pope’s top lieutenant, said that Ireland’s vote to allow homosexual marriage was a “defeat for humanity.”
New York Times declares that traditional marriage is “absurd.”

The President’s Continuing Legal Problems
President Obama for six years has sought to bypass Congress and create new laws through executive actions. However, now several of those actions are tied up in the courts.
Same-sex marriage, Obmacare, Climate Change — all are before the U. S. Supreme Court. And then there is immigration. This week the Fifth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals dealt the President a stunning defeat saying his executive order granting amnesty to five million illegal aliens was illegal. The case ultimately will also before the Supreme Court.
Comment: President Obama has ruled like a dictator rather than a man elected by WE THE PEOPLE. He has ruled as though he is above the law rather than abiding by the law. Now his arbitrary decisions — and his legacy — are in jeopardy.
Rethinking Those Military Tributes at Ballparks
There are some new doubts about all those military tributes at National Football League games and other ballparks.
Most of us feel a real surge of patriotism when we see the patriotic celebrations before the games begin. I am always impressed by the giant American flag that covers most of the playing field and the military personnel in their uniforms. I thought the ceremonies were a tribute to the owners of the various teams and a revelation of their patriotism.
But voila! Now we learn that the Pentagon has been paying the professional sports teams for the ceremonies. Pentagon officials have not told us he truth of the matter.
Comment: I decry the idea of paid patriotism! The owners of the professional football and baseball teams are some of the wealthiest men and women in America. They pay their players obscene amounts of money, some in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Yet you and I — Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer — have to pay for them to be patriotic. Amazing.
Rev. Franklin Graham: Gates’ Call to Allow Homosexual Scout Leaders Puts Scouts at Risk
Last week Robert Gates, president of the Boy Scouts of America, voiced his support for homosexual scout leaders.
However, Newsmax reports the Reverend Franklin Graham says such action would place the young scouts “at risk.”
“Robert Gates, shame on you for not having the moral courage to do what is right,” Graham said.
“What are you thinking?” Graham wrote in response to Gates. He added, “We shouldn’t shift as the winds of cultural change blow through society; we need to stand for God’s truth and things that are morally right…This move is bending to LGBT activist groups…”
Graham encouraged every former Boy Scout and every parent involved in the Boy Scouts to let Robert Gates know how displeased you are and that if he leads the organization down this road, “they may lose their support, their participation — and your sons.”
Comment: Last week we reported that the Boy Scouts of America has dozens of cases of scout leaders who in the past sexually abused young scouts. I can’t imagine any mother or father who would feel comfortable sending their sons on camping trips with homosexual scout leaders.
Ferguson Protesters Paid to Protest
Remember the terrible riots in Ferguson, Missouri?
According to Newsmax many of the protesters were paid to go to Ferguson and wreak havoc.
Ultra Left wing billionaire George Soros — one of President Obama’s strongest supporters and in whose home Chelsea Clinton was married — funded many of the rioters through the organization known as Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE) and offered protesters $5,000 a month to go to Ferguson and join in the looting and the burning.
The Washington Times reports that some 500 protesters from Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Portland, Tucson, Washington, D.C., and Winston-Salem, North Carolina rushed to Ferguson — believing they were to be paid $5,000 — to join in the rioting and destruction of property.
However, some of the rioters are now protesting because MORE has not paid them.
Comment: George Soros wants to turn this country into a Western-European-type socialist government and is spending millions of dollars to accomplish his evil designs. However, it appears to me for him to pay people to riot is inciting a riot and he ought to be prosecuted for what he has done. But being a close friend of President Obama and Bill and Hillary Clinton, that’s not likely.
Feds to Provide Internet Service for Low-Income Families
According to the Hill the Federal Communications Commission plans to help low-income families pay for internet service as part of the fraud-ridden Lifeline program that already provides cell phones to this group.
The program just for phones — and the monthly service — costs taxpayers nearly $2 billion a year and has been racked with lingering waste, the Hill pointed out.
They continued “The program received harsh criticism during President Obama’s first term due to fraud and abuse that stemmed from the expansion to mobile phones.”
Investigators learned that there was $500 million in fraud in the phone program by those ineligible who received the phones.
Comment: When I was a boy, my mom and dad couldn’t afford a phone, but we got by just fine. But today, liberals in government believe that all low-income families in this land deserve mobile phones and some 12 million have received them. So the taxpayers take another hit.
Now the liberal FCC plans to help the low-income families with internet service. Yet, as usual, they leave us with several questions:
Why is the internet service necessary?
Who will purchase the computers for them?
Will this program also be racked with fraud?
One thing that characterizes liberals/progressives is how many people are on some kind of government programs. The internet service program will add a lot of people. And again, taxpayers take a hit.
Ann Coulter: Immigration Most Important Issue Facing America Today
New York Times bestselling author and political activist Ann Coulter has written a new book entitled Adios America/the Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hell Hole.
The Breitbart News Network says in her book Coulter is “more fearless than ever” as she takes on the issue of illegal immigration.
Breitbart reports In Adios, America she attacks the groups she says are the most fervent supporters of amnesty for illegal aliens. That group includes “La Raza, the Democrats, a media determined to cover up immigrants’ crimes, churches that get paid by the government for the ‘charity,’ and greedy Republican businessmen and campaign consultants — all of whom are profiting handsomely from mass immigration that is tearing this country apart.”
Comment: At last, someone has the courage to “tell it like it is.” Ann Coulter is that person.

According to the office of the Inspector General, the United States Department of Agriculture issued over $2.4 billion in improper payments on Food Stamps during 2013.

Obama Denies Gruber, but Facts Deny Obama
Last week, most Americans were shocked when MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber — well known as the chief architect of Obamacare — said he and others purposely lied to the American people about the coming effects of the healthcare law.
Gruber also said that the American people were too “stupid” to understand the new law so it was necessary to lie to them. Ho hum!
Now enter President Obama. He said Gruber really didn’t have much to do with the Affordable Care Act. That he was a minor player. But records reveal Gruber visited the White House 19 time and, others report, on one occasion he met with the President in the Oval Office for several hours.
Financial records also reveal that the Obama Administration and several states paid him a total of almost $6 million dollars for his work on Obamacare.
That’s a pretty good salary for a minor player.
“America’s Preacher” — A Word for the American People
CNS News quoted America’s beloved evangelist, the Reverend Billy Graham, saying our children in this land are growing up in a “lawless and wicked age” that is filled with the “philosophy of the devil, who says, ‘Do as you please."”
According to Reverend Graham, rearing children in today’s culture is difficult because “we have taken God out of our educational systems and thought we could get away with it. We have sown the wind, and we are now reaping the whirlwind. We have laughed at God, religion and the Bible.”
“Many Christian parents are becoming fearful that they cannot properly train their children in this lawless and wicked age…” he said. “We are beginning to reap what has been sown for the past generation.”
Reverend Graham also pointed out that, “Many of our educational leaders sneer at the old-fashioned idea of God and a moral code. Movies feature sex, sin, crime and alcohol…Newspapers have played up crime and sex until they seem glamorous to young people.”
Reverend Graham said one of the fundamental problems is the failure of parents to fight “the devil in the home” through discipline and, as a result, “children are allowed to go wild.”
Big Mess in Social Security Disability Payments
There were $2 billion in Social Security disability claims approved by mistake in 2013, according to the U. S. Inspector General.
Newsmax reported “A small group of Social Security judges have improperly approved disability claims for nearly 25,000 people who didn’t qualify, costing taxpayers $2 billion over the past seven years…”. The price tag will grow by nearly $300 million next year because many of these people are still getting benefits…”
Investigators began their probe when they noticed that some judges were approving 85 percent of the claims.
Republican Representative Darrell Issa of California said “The Social Security Administration’s failure to conduct timely medical eligibility reviews has resulted in rubber-stamped decisions that have and will continue to cost taxpayers billions in improper rewards. In failing to take meaningful disciplinary action at the Social Security Administration on even the most egregious cases of mismanagement, taxpayers are left to wonder who is looking after their tax dollars.”
Al Sharpton! Is There No Shame?
Reverend Al Sharpton, this country’s best-known race hustler who has preached racism and violence over the shooting of a black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, is also a friend and confidant of President Obama. Some insiders say Sharpton hand-picked Loretta Lynch to succeed retiring Eric Holder as U. S. Attorney General.
Now it comes to light that Sharpton has a lot of shady dealings for which he has not been held accountable.
The New York Times reported “Mr. Sharpton has regularly sidestepped the sorts of obligations most people see as inevitable, like taxes, rent and other bills. Records…show more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him…”
According to the Times, Sharpton’s National Action Network appears to have been financed by not paying federal payroll taxes to its employees.
The Times said “Mr. Sharpton and the National Action Network have repeatedly failed to pay travel agencies, hotels and landlords.”
But Sharpton recently held a press conference where he denied that he owed the money.
Comment: Mr. Sharpton criticizes others for various reasons. Yet he has a lot of skeletons in his own closet. The Bible has a word for that.
President Obama’s Amnesty: Formula for Chaos
President Obama granted amnesty to some five million illegal aliens Thursday night.
In so doing, he became the Lone Ranger, violated the Constitution, and went against the will of the majority of the American people. The Constitution grants all matters concerning immigration to the Congress.
Erudite Washington Times columnist Wesley Pruden said this may be good news for the illegals in this land but “it’s not good news for anyone who appreciates law and order on the border.”
Pruden said the President’s action is like a golden ticket to millions of others in Mexico, and in Central and South America. “Come on in, I’ll find a way to make you legal later,” is the message the President sent to millions of others who want to come to the United States.
Pruden said “But all his declaration of amnesty will do is guarantee that “hell on the border will continue, probably get worse.”
Comment: As I watched the President’s amnesty declaration Thursday evening, as always, he was smooth as silk as he tried to build his case for the action he was taking.
But what he didn’t say was more important than what he said. And, a couple of times, he really stretched the truth as he often does.
For instance, he said deportations of illegals are down lower than they have been in years.
Of course they are! He ordered the Department of Homeland Security to stop most deportations.
Also, he said that there are not as many aliens crossing into this land as in earlier years.
But Mr. President, what about the 68 million children? And what about reports from the Border Patrol agents that the influx of aliens is increasing so fast they can hardly control the border any longer?
Commentary
Why Did He Do It?
Recently Peggy Noonan, veteran columnist for the Wall Street Journal, noted that President Obama is the loneliest president since Richard Nixon.
Noonan wrote in her column “The Republicans don’t like him…The Democrats don’t like him, for their own reasons plus the election loss…Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid …clearly doesn’t like him at all.”

China pulled the wool over his eyes in a climate change agreement whereby the American people are expected to do everything. But the Chinese do nothing until 2030.
He abandoned this country’s hard-won victory in Iraq by going against all of his military advisors as he removed all troops from that land.
He promised to intervene in the mass killing Syrians by Syrian President Assad, then backed out.
Interestingly, from the beginning of his presidency, he reached out to the Muslim nations and now they make fun of him.
Noonan pointed out that in the Beijing summit last week “there was no sign the leaders of the world had any particular regard for him.”
Then, the November 4 election. All of his policies were firmly rejected by the voters as they handed both houses of Congress over to the Republicans. His supporters basically didn’t even have enough confidence in him to turn out to vote.
Not one single democrat running for the U.S. Senate campaigned on Obama’s record, Obamacare or amnesty for millions of aliens in this land.
Also, Obamacare is becoming more and more unpopular each day with the American people. The final nail in the Obamacare coffin was when Jonathan Gruber, chief architect of the law, said it was necessary to lie to the American people to get the law passed because the voters are too “stupid” to understand it.
When he was running for President, Obama told the American people he planned to do three things: redistribute the wealth, pass nationalized healthcare and completely transform America.
What he didn’t understand was that the American people didn’t want the nation transformed at least not into his image of what America should be. Neither did they want him to destroy the best health care system in the world.
It took the people six years to grasp the immensity of what he was trying to do. But they finally understood on November 4.
Hence, the President realizes that, to some degree, he is no longer relevant. And, with his larger-than-life self image, he had to get back in the news. Amnesty seemed to be a partial answer for him. But what will he do next?

According to the office of the Inspector General, the United States Department of Agriculture issued over $2.4 billion in improper payments on Food Stamps during 2013.

Obama Denies Gruber, but Facts Deny Obama
Last week, most Americans were shocked when MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber — well known as the chief architect of Obamacare — said he and others purposely lied to the American people about the coming effects of the healthcare law.
Gruber also said that the American people were too “stupid” to understand the new law so it was necessary to lie to them. Ho hum!
Now enter President Obama. He said Gruber really didn’t have much to do with the Affordable Care Act. That he was a minor player. But records reveal Gruber visited the White House 19 time and, others report, on one occasion he met with the President in the Oval Office for several hours.
Financial records also reveal that the Obama Administration and several states paid him a total of almost $6 million dollars for his work on Obamacare.
That’s a pretty good salary for a minor player.
“America’s Preacher” — A Word for the American People
CNS News quoted America’s beloved evangelist, the Reverend Billy Graham, saying our children in this land are growing up in a “lawless and wicked age” that is filled with the “philosophy of the devil, who says, ‘Do as you please."”
According to Reverend Graham, rearing children in today’s culture is difficult because “we have taken God out of our educational systems and thought we could get away with it. We have sown the wind, and we are now reaping the whirlwind. We have laughed at God, religion and the Bible.”
“Many Christian parents are becoming fearful that they cannot properly train their children in this lawless and wicked age…” he said. “We are beginning to reap what has been sown for the past generation.”
Reverend Graham also pointed out that, “Many of our educational leaders sneer at the old-fashioned idea of God and a moral code. Movies feature sex, sin, crime and alcohol…Newspapers have played up crime and sex until they seem glamorous to young people.”
Reverend Graham said one of the fundamental problems is the failure of parents to fight “the devil in the home” through discipline and, as a result, “children are allowed to go wild.”
Big Mess in Social Security Disability Payments
There were $2 billion in Social Security disability claims approved by mistake in 2013, according to the U. S. Inspector General.
Newsmax reported “A small group of Social Security judges have improperly approved disability claims for nearly 25,000 people who didn’t qualify, costing taxpayers $2 billion over the past seven years…”. The price tag will grow by nearly $300 million next year because many of these people are still getting benefits…”
Investigators began their probe when they noticed that some judges were approving 85 percent of the claims.
Republican Representative Darrell Issa of California said “The Social Security Administration’s failure to conduct timely medical eligibility reviews has resulted in rubber-stamped decisions that have and will continue to cost taxpayers billions in improper rewards. In failing to take meaningful disciplinary action at the Social Security Administration on even the most egregious cases of mismanagement, taxpayers are left to wonder who is looking after their tax dollars.”
Al Sharpton! Is There No Shame?
Reverend Al Sharpton, this country’s best-known race hustler who has preached racism and violence over the shooting of a black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, is also a friend and confidant of President Obama. Some insiders say Sharpton hand-picked Loretta Lynch to succeed retiring Eric Holder as U. S. Attorney General.
Now it comes to light that Sharpton has a lot of shady dealings for which he has not been held accountable.
The New York Times reported “Mr. Sharpton has regularly sidestepped the sorts of obligations most people see as inevitable, like taxes, rent and other bills. Records…show more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him…”
According to the Times, Sharpton’s National Action Network appears to have been financed by not paying federal payroll taxes to its employees.
The Times said “Mr. Sharpton and the National Action Network have repeatedly failed to pay travel agencies, hotels and landlords.”
But Sharpton recently held a press conference where he denied that he owed the money.
Comment: Mr. Sharpton criticizes others for various reasons. Yet he has a lot of skeletons in his own closet. The Bible has a word for that.
President Obama’s Amnesty: Formula for Chaos
President Obama granted amnesty to some five million illegal aliens Thursday night.
In so doing, he became the Lone Ranger, violated the Constitution, and went against the will of the majority of the American people. The Constitution grants all matters concerning immigration to the Congress.
Erudite Washington Times columnist Wesley Pruden said this may be good news for the illegals in this land but “it’s not good news for anyone who appreciates law and order on the border.”
Pruden said the President’s action is like a golden ticket to millions of others in Mexico, and in Central and South America. “Come on in, I’ll find a way to make you legal later,” is the message the President sent to millions of others who want to come to the United States.
Pruden said “But all his declaration of amnesty will do is guarantee that “hell on the border will continue, probably get worse.”
Comment: As I watched the President’s amnesty declaration Thursday evening, as always, he was smooth as silk as he tried to build his case for the action he was taking.
But what he didn’t say was more important than what he said. And, a couple of times, he really stretched the truth as he often does.
For instance, he said deportations of illegals are down lower than they have been in years.
Of course they are! He ordered the Department of Homeland Security to stop most deportations.
Also, he said that there are not as many aliens crossing into this land as in earlier years.
But Mr. President, what about the 68 million children? And what about reports from the Border Patrol agents that the influx of aliens is increasing so fast they can hardly control the border any longer?
