Left Behind The Kids MARATHON HEAT WAVE Chapters 1 thru 4
In their attempt to get to Vicki and other Young Tribulation Force members in Wisconsin, a terrible accident takes place. A several ton boulder falls on Lionel’s arm and though Judd goes for help, Lionel ends up amputating his own left arm with his pocketknife to break free.
Meanwhile, Cheryl has given birth to her baby but has given him to Tom and Josey Fogarty to raise. But after thinking through what she is done, Cheryl turns hostile towards the Fogarty’s. She wants her baby back.
In New Babylon, Chang begins getting worldwide reports of a supernatural heatwave that is setting fires everywhere, melting houses and cars, and burning unbelievers to ashes. God has begun His Fourth Bowl Judgment.

Left Behind The Kids OMINOUS CHOICES Chs 13 thru 15
Lionel cut off his own arm with his pocketknife to break free from a massive boulder that had fallen on it, crushing it and pinning him to the ground where he laid alone for two days. Judd and a doctor he had befriended, a doctor bearing the mark of the Antichrist on his forehead, found Lionel and took him to the doctor’s home. The doctor realized that because of the mark he had received, he would spend eternity in hell. Once the doctor knew that Lionel had been taking care of, he went to his room and committed suicide. Judd took the doctors Humvee and fled to a safe house in Ohio. Vicki’s friend Cheryl has just had a baby. Vicki wishes Judd was with her.
In Petra, Sam and his new friend Lev, have watched several dramatic scenes of life and death. Tsion debated Leon Fortunato on worldwide television about who God is – Jesus Christ or Nicolae Carpathia (the Antichrist). A revolt took place inside for with angry Jews who had not received any mark challenged the authority of Tsion And Chaim as God’s leaders In Petra. Suddenly the ground opened up and swallowed all the protesters including Lev’s father and sister. Then thousands of undecided Jews left Petra to see a false messiah do what the book of Revelation calls “lying wonders” in spite of Tsion’s warnings and pleadings. Lev stayed with Sam and they have climbed to a high place in Petra where Lev is watching with binoculars to see what the false messiah will do.

Judd and Doctor Rose have come upon the place where Lionel had been pinned beneath a huge boulder, but Lionel is gone. There is blood all over the area where he had stayed. They realize that Lionel has cut his arm off to break free. Finally they find Lionel and Doctor Rose takes the two young men to his house and treats Lionel, stitching up the area where his army had been, no doubt saving his life. But knowing that the Antichrist’s mark doomed the doctor to hell, Doctor Rose committed suicide.

Lionel has his left arm pinned under a huge boulder. He is alone near a wooded area and extremely hungry. Judd left Lionel to find help. But when he got to the safe house where they had been staying most recently before leaving for their trek home, the GC police were already there rounding up his friends in that house. He has just gone to a police car and faked an announcement of where to go to find those who had run off. The GC believed him.

Vicki watched Pete drive out of sight. More vehicles approach from the other direction.
Mark ran to the office with the note the kids had written. “I’m going to give this to the guy up front!”
A green minivan and two other cars pulled to the back of the storage facility. Vicki recognized Kelly when she got out of the van and hugged her.
“No time for reunions,” Colin said. “Everybody get in. Keep some distance between cars and keep in touch with the radios.”
Mark hurried out and jumped in the minivan with Vicki, Shelly, Conrad, and several others. The rest filled the cars.
“Did you give the note to him?” Vicki asked.
Mark nodded. “I didn’t have time to talk. I just told him that there was information he needed to read and share with his family. I gave them my watch so we can see The Cube.”
“But he doesn’t know how to pray,” Vicki said.
“I put the website address on the note. He has enough information now.”
As Kelly drove along the road, Vicki kept looking behind them and checking overhead. Several times she thought she heard helicopters, but none appeared.
“Who are the other drivers?” Vicki asked.okay if you have breakfast again
“We’ve known about some older believers who live a few miles from the school. I ran there this morning. Two volunteered to drive, and the rest are praying for us now.”
“Where are we going?” Mark asked.
“It’s better if we split up to different houses,” Kelly said. “Neighbors won’t be so suspicious.”
“We’ll have to go into hiding anyway,” another girl said. “You’ll be giving the mark to the rest of the population soon.”

Mark watched the GC car speed up. It was newer, faster, and would overtake them quickly.
“Floor it!” Mark said.
“I am,” Conrad said, watching the speedometer slowly climb.
“They’re gaining on us!” Shelley yelled.
“Is there anything in the back we can throw out to slow them down?” Mark hollered.
Shelly and Janie climbed over the backseat. “There’s a spare tire and a tire iron,” Shelley yelled back.
“I found a bunch of nails and screws in a little box,” Janie shouted.
Mark turned to Conrad. “Go as fast as you can. We’ll slow them up a little.”
Conrad nodded and kept his eyes on the road as Mark climbed over the seats. He grabbed the tire iron, smashed the back window, and muttered, “Sorry, Bo.”

Vicki tried to get comfortable in the trunk. Darrion held the crowbar in place so they would continue to get air.
“Where do you think they’re going?” Darrion whispered.
“Probably back to Des Plaines where they’re holding the Shairtons and Charlie.”
A frantic voice came on the radio, calling the leader. Vicki’s heart sank as she heard a young officer say, “We’ve got those kids, Sir. They’re in that old car we spotted in the bushes. They’re about a quarter of a mile ahead of us.”
“How many?”
“Can’t tell, sir. They passed us going pretty fast. Probably at least four or five.”
“Where are they headed?”
“Toward Lake Geneva, sir.”
“Good,” the leader said. “The roads are torn up that way. You should be able to catch them.”

Left Behind-The Kids: Darkening Skies Chs 5&6 Janie’s New Religion, Mr. Steins Story
Mark has rescued Melinda from the GC police. They fled on a motorcycle they later had to drown. They are in hiding, but somehow Janie has escaped from a reeducation center and found them.
In Jerusalem, Judd and Lionel are also in hiding. They are at a safehouse and Judd mistakingly thinks that Rayford Steele has been killed. Meanwhile, Vicki, Conrad, Darrion, Shelley, and Charlie, are in the schoolhouse that Z prepared for them. Conrad is in the tower above the schoolhouse watching out for any sign of the GC police.
Conrad sat in the tower, watching for any sign of the Global Community. He used a flashlight to read a printout of Tsion Ben Judah’s latest teaching. The teaching was so interesting, he had to be careful not to get too absorbed.
Late that night he took a break and closed his eyes for a moment. He ran his hand along the floor and felt a weird lump. A piece of wood stuck up about an inch. He placed his hand on the other side of the plank and pushed. The board gave an inch or two, and Conrad was able to get his fingers underneath.
As he pulled, other boards lifted. Conrad put his flashlight near the hole. Some sort of box fit perfectly inside.
Conrad tried to lift the board, but it wouldn’t budge. The box was decorated with fancy etchings. He shifted his weight to try again, but just then something moved in the woods.
Phoenix growled below. Conrad peered into the darkness and took out his pistol. He quickly ran downstairs and woke Vicki. Vicki left Phoenix looks, and the dog headed for the road, then quickly darted into the woods, barking.
Conrad listened closely. The barking stopped. Footsteps. Had something or someone killed Phoenix? Conrad cocked his pistol and waited.

Left Behind – The Kids: Judgment Day Chs 9&10 The Plan, Springing Vicki
Vicki may be given the death sentence from Commander Blanca tomorrow morning or she could be found not guilty. Blanca is the whole judge and jury. Given everything that Commander Blanca said when he faced Vicki, the death sentence is almost certain. Her surprising ally has been the late Chaya’s father who has tried to defend Vicki before the Commander. But he has said that Vicki is mentally ill. That statement from Mr. Stein infuriated Vicki. She is now back in her cell and Chaya’s dad has been allowed to go into her cell to talk with her. Lionel and his friend Chad who is a new Christian, are standing outside the courtroom still pretending to be members of the Morale Monitors. Meanwhile, Judd has been reading from the website of Christian Rabbi Tsion Ben Judah and realizes that far greater horror is coming quickly from God’s judgments on Earth. But there is one good thing ahead – the prophecy of Joel repeated by Peter in Acts two that the Holy Spirit is about to be released on all flesh. Ray picks the story up at this point.
Vicki was taken to her cell. Mr. Stein followed and was allowed inside.
“What happens now?” Vicki said.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Mr. Stein answered. “sounds like the commander will decide between now and tomorrow morning.”
“Do you think there’s a chance—?”
“If he believes you were a little off in the head,” Mr. Stein said, “he might just send you to a reeducation camp.”
“And if not?”
“I don’t want to think about it.”
“I’m not afraid to die for the gospel,” Vicki said.
Mr. Stein shook his head. “I’ll never understand why fanatics say things like that. You think it impresses me. It doesn’t. There are many people would give their lives for something foolish.”
“The point isn’t whether I would die for my faith,” Vicki said. “The main thing is whether what I put my faith in is true.”
“You sound like my daughter.”
“If they said it was illegal to talk about God,” Vicki said, “I would die giving you that message. But I’d rather live to see you accept your Messiah. That’s what Chaya was praying for all along.”
“They’re coming for you tomorrow morning,” Mr. Stein said, “and the best you can hope for is to go to a reeducation camp. Why would you be concerned about me when you’re facing that?”
“Lionel said it best.”
“He was against you.”
“No, I understood. He said he knew I’d get what I deserved. Because of Jesus, I have the hope of heaven. The Global Community can’t take that away.”

Earthquake: Chs. 7&8 – Helping Pete, Ryan’s Bad News
The Young Tribulation Force have been scattered by God’s earthquake, followed by His meteor shower. Ryan appears to be rescued from drowning in his basement. But at this point, we have no idea who the men were who rescued him. Vicki, who was nearly killed, has walked for hours afterward to get to where she thinks she will find Ryan. Judd has been helped by a farmer and his wife who discovered he was a Christian. The farmer would have shot him otherwise. Instead, the two gave Judd new clothes so that he could get out of the detention centers orange jumpsuit. He too has begun walking toward where he and his friends lived, many miles from there. Lionel has been in a hospital bed and can’t even remember his name after being struck during the earthquake. He is now being released by a doctor who thinks that he and his new friend, Chad, will be a part of the Antichrist’s “morale monitors” – a worldwide army of teenagers who are supposed to arrest or kill Christians. Chaya appears to be dying with a collapsed lung from something that hit her during the earthquake. She is spending what may be her last breaths witnessing to her unsaved Jewish father who doesn’t want to hear about Christ.

Lionel has been kidnapped and is riding in a van to an unknown location. A bunch of scared boys his age were in the van when he got in. Judd is with his pilot friend, hiding in an airplane hanger. Both are in extreme danger. However, Judd has found a new friend on the Internet while answering Bible questions, Pavel. Pavel is the son of a man who works at Global Community Headquarters in the Antichrist’s city of New Babylon. Vicki is in trouble at school for being open about Christ in a school assembly. And Mrs. Stahley, Darrion’s Christian mother has been arrested and taken into custody by the Global police. Ray will right now read the next two chapters.

The Search: Chs. 1 & 2: The Search Begins, Darrion – Ray begins reading the ninth book in the series of Left Behind – The Kids
It felt good to be on his bike again and heading home. Ryan wanted to tell Judd about his visit with Bruce he knew Judd would be ticked, but he didn’t care. Ryan would just laugh and take Phoenix for a run in the park.
As he rode toward a hill, he heard a plane overhead. It was flying low. Too low. Ryan looked up in time to see the underside of the fighter jet. The roar was deafening. Ryan was sure it was going to crash.
He glanced down just as his front tire hit the curb. Ryan struggled to stay up and swerved into the street. Just as he gained control, and earth–shattering explosion behind him through him to the pavement. His bike skittered ahead. He saw blood on his elbow and a huge hole in his jeans.
Tires screeched. A van was sliding toward him! He stared, frozen, is it demolished his bike and stopped within inches of his face.
He smelled gasoline. Fire crackled behind him. Screams filled the air. More planes flew overhead. Another explosion. Then another. The van backed up and try to get around him, but his bike was caught underneath. Ryan grabbed the front bumper and pulled himself up. The driver was looking back. The men on the passenger side was short with a round face and looked like he needed a shave. Ryan saw something move in the back of the van.
The driver turned and yelled. The other man banged on the window, and screamed “Get outta the way, kid!”
Ryan Randy check his bike. The crumpled handlebars were caught between the back wheel and the bumper. With the explosions and noise around him, his first thought was to run. Find shelter. Get to safety.
But something drew him back to the van. He peered through the tinted window. Nothing. He cupped his hand to block the light and was barely able to make out a kid with heavy gray tape over his mouth. Ryan tapped on the window, and the kid turned. Blindfolded!
