A doctor has told Ryan that he is paralyzed and may never walk again following the injuries Ryan received during God’s earthquake. Judd wanted to find his friends but he stopped to help an injured young motorcyclist. He then led him to Christ. The injured cyclist asked Judd to go see his girlfriend and lead her to Christ. Judd agreed, though it made him walk in the opposite direction from where his friends would be. Lionel still has amnesia but is being released from the hospital. Chaya has a punctured lung and is spitting up blood, but she is still witnessing about Christ to her injured belligerent Jewish father. Vicki and Darrion are searching right now for Ryan.

“Stop treating us like little kids,” Lionel said at breakfast Friday morning. “It’s not right to have meetings without us.”

Ryan was furious. “Mark is our friend, too,” he said. “We’ve got a right to know what’s going on.”

“I was afraid you’d want to follow him,” Judd said. “What was I supposed to do?”

“Let us go see Bruce then.”

“Can’t. Sorry.”

“See,” Ryan said. “This is the same thing.”

“They won’t let you in,” Judd said. “Maybe when he’s feeling better.”

“I’m going to send him a card,” Ryan muttered as he slammed the door.

Judd called Loretta for the latest on Bruce. She said, “He rested through the night and told me he wants to be out in time to meet Rayford and the rest tomorrow.”

“So that’s what he meant about meeting people for lunch,” Judd said. “Is Captain Steele flying Carpathia into the country?”

“I don’t have a clue.”

Vicki drove Chaya to the hospital Friday morning and saw Chaya’s mother and father walk in. Chaya left a bouquet of flowers at the front desk for her mother. They asked about Bruce, but the nurses were tightlipped.”

Patricia Devlin, the head nurse, said, “Family members?”

Vicki said “Daughter.”

“No change,” the nurse said. “Check back later.”

“I can’t even see my own father?”

“Ms. Devlin peered at Vicki over her glasses. “You look a little too old to be his daughter,” she said. “But anyway, his doctor says no visitors until his illness is identified.”

Everyone made it home without incident, but the next day they argued. “What happened last night proves were doing the right thing,” Mark said.

“How can you say that?” Judd said, hardly able to control himself. “That was foolish. All three of us could’ve been killed! And for what? What did we accomplish?”

“You don’t understand,” Mark said. “Things are about to change.”

“The change has to be spiritual,” Judd said. “There are so many constructive things you could do.”

“You don’t call fighting the Antichrist constructive?” Mark said.

Vicki said, “We’re just concerned about you, Mark.”

“Think about Lionel and Ryan, to,” Judd said. “You’re influencing those guys.”

Jobs slept until afternoon, then headed to the church. He was surprised to find Vicki at the front door. “Keeping watch?” He said.

“You haven’t heard about the wedding?” Vicki said.

Vicki explained the romance Judd hadn’t seen. He knew Chloe Steele and Buck Williams were seeing each other and even guessed that they might get married. But he hadn’t guessed about Amanda White and Rayford Steele. She was a tall, handsome woman about Mr. Steele’s age; she had streaked hair and impeccable taste in clothes.

“And it was the most romantic proposal I’ve ever heard of. Buck surprise Chloe and Amanda’s office and proposed to her in one room while her dad was proposing to Amanda in the other. The only problem is, now were losing Chloe. She and Buck will live in New York.

Judd and Vicki crept to Bruce’s office and listened outside the door. Bruce told the couples where to stand and led them through the double ceremony.
