I have often wondered what would happen if a madman or madwoman became president of the United States. Or what we would do in America if a devoted Socialist or Communist became president? What if America’s president wanted to throw away the United States Constitution and fully replace it with new laws of their own? What if our president no longer wanted America to be a shining beacon on a hill, but wanted to hand us over lock, stock, and barrel to the United Nations? What if one of our presidents took all our freedoms away? Would we simply allow him or her to continue in office to serve out their term and do whatever they wanted for at least four years or perhaps eight? And if not, how would our nation stop them from destroying our basic foundations while they are in office?

Taking A Reality Check of Our Nation 2014 –Ray

President Barack Hussein Obama proved at the very beginning of his candidacy in 2008 that we no longer care as a nation whether those running for the oval office have proof of their citizenship or mean what they say about transparency and so many other things. In fact, the place of President Obama’s birth and his birth certificate were quickly turned into a joke.

In spite of the fact that he had sat for twenty years under the tutelage of the man he called his “mentor” – Reverend Jeremiah Wright – who “damned” America not only of its past racial treatment but it’s present, we paid little attention to that. When Michelle Obama, who had also sat under Reverend Wright for all those years, said the only time she had ever felt proud of America was when her husband was nominated for president, we totally ignored that. Nor do we seem to mind that the president’s personal life is unknown to us other than from a few magazine articles and an occasional presidential news conference. Deals and threats he makes behind closed doors result in Obamacare or in amnesty for illegals.

Most Americans never even think of holding a president’s feet to the fire until he keeps his (or maybe her) promises. We have stopped writing letters or phoning the presidential hotline or congressional hotline because we think we don’t matter in a nation as big as our own. Most Americans don’t even vote. I am simply one voice telling you from the studied experience of my own that writing, phoning, and voting DO make a difference when your voice joins many others who do the same. And to always vote a straight party ticket could get the devil elected.

We know scarcely anything about who our president and his wife really are. And we know nothing at all about the private deals our president makes with his administration or with foreign leaders. We read about these things instead from a news media that has fawned on him primarily because of his race and power, and are totally willing to avoid saying anything negative or questionable about our Commander-in-Chief or his wife that isn’t warm and fuzzy. And yet what they are doing or saying privately totally affects you, me, and the people of our nation. “The most transparent presidency in history” has turned out the lights and said “go away” ever since he was elected president. Wheeling and dealing has to be commonplace in an administration so full of scandal.

I am not suggesting with anything I’ve written or am saying that President Obama and his wife are anything but good people who absolutely care that America continues as the most important nation in the world for freedom’s sake. And that they are not totally honest in everything they do or say that affects our nation. But what I am meaning is that America’s voters have grown extremely lax in their moral responsibility to safeguard the constitutional requirements of the highest office in our land and to demand real answers from the candidates.

Probably because statewide candidates remain in their own state throughout their campaigns, voters are much more apt to know the backgrounds and the foregrounds of the candidates. And those who don’t care who wins seem to stay away from the voting booth during midterms. Tragically, that represented two thirds of registered voters in America this time.

For whatever it is worth, I am of the opinion that America has begun to vote not for the needed qualifications in a president, but for the best orator running for the office, or because it wants to make restitution for its former racial intolerance, or even because of gender. I also believe that if this tendency continues in the majority of voters we will suddenly find ourselves with someone who fits one of the categories in my opening statement.

I am told that the younger generation – the millennial’s -don’t care what happens to America. Hollywood seems to have convinced them that picking up chicks or guys in a bar and going to bed with them is what America now is all about. Few of them will listen to this newscast because they’re not at all interested in the news or in transparency. They don’t care that our government knows exactly what they’re saying and exactly where they are because they are still going to do and say whatever they want to anyway.

Supposedly, the millennial’s also believe this world is going to end much sooner than they would end otherwise and that they need to grab all the gusto they can and live for now. If they protest at all, they protest only for the fun of it or because they like to show their anger once in awhile. If that report is true about the millennial’s, it is highly probable that they will lose all their freedoms before the eve of destruction.

I urge anyone still listening or reading this news report to join me in expressing your desires to the president and the politicians who say they are representing you. I am not anti-Obama, but I believe it is high time to hold his feet to the fire until he stops telling us only what he wants us to hear whether it is true or not. I wasn’t able to keep my doctor. I believe the path to citizenship should only come to those who have legally applied for it. And I believe it is getting harder and harder for God to bless America.

One thing about great speakers, they are almost always great actors too. Actors, because of their adoring fans, usually have tremendous egos and don’t care a whit about those fans other than they keep on adoring them. And actors always believe their press clippings. When a president is doing that with a news media that lavishes him with praise and doesn’t tell the truth any more than he or she does, the nation they are supposed to lead is in the kind of great danger that America is right now.

Barney Fife? Keystone Cops? Gomer Pyle? Who’s in Charge?

     Someone forgot to lock the front door at the White House. And the guard who was supposed to be on duty at the front door? Well no one has heard from him.

     What we do know is that Omar J. Gonzalez jumped over the wall around the White House grounds, entered the unlocked front door, knocked down a Secret Service agent in the North Portico, and ran past the staircase that leads to the first family’s quarters. Gonzalez, who was carrying a knife, then went into the ceremonial East Room before going to the Green Room where he was tackled by another Secret Service agent who was off duty at the time but just happened to be in the area.

     A congressional committee summoned Secret Service Director Julia Pierson to find out why the President and First Family are not being protected. Pierson said she took full responsibility for the security breach.

     However, during three hours of questions by the congressmen, the Associated Press reports that Pierson failed to mention another security failure that took place in Atlanta, Georgia. On Sept. 16, an armed security contractor with three convictions for assault and battery rode on an elevator with President Barack Obama and his security detail at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, violating Secret Service protocol.

     Meanwhile, an unidentified man posing as a congressman entered the area backstage during Obama’s speech to the Congressional Black Caucus, Bloomberg News reports. A member of the White House staff asked the man to leave.

     Comment: Where’s Barney Fife and Gomer when we need them? Or the Keystone Cops? Just about anyone — including a troop of boy scouts — could do a better job protecting the President and his family than the Secret Service.

    The Service has 7,000 employees and an annual budget of $1.6 billion.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Margaret Sanger and Eugenics

     Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg openly believes in eugenics and population control “particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

     During a recent interview with Elle magazine, she made it quite clear that a major factor in the passage of Roe v. Wade was eugenics or population control, particularly among the poor and minorities.

     The Justice believes that poor women should have more access to abortions because it “makes no sense as a national policy to promote birth only among poor people.”

     Really? A question for Justice Ginsberg: Who will decide the little children that will live and those that will die? Will the high court determine that poor women should not have children? Blacks? Hispanics? Who?

 Comment: Who are the people “we have too many of?” Blacks, Indians, Hispanics? Justice Ginsberg didn’t say exactly who she was talking about — but it sounds a lot like eugenics to me. Eugenics is a philosophy that believes in the reproduction of more children with desired traits and less with undesired traits.

   Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood and the nation’s leading exponent of eugenics, once said, “The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

     Back in 1939, Sanger wrote, “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…”

     Today, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion facilities are located within walking distance of black or Hispanic communities.

     Since Roe, 16 million black babies have been killed. Some years ago when 17,000 aborted babies were found in a dumpster outside a pathology lab in Los Angeles, some 12-15,000 were observed to be black.

When Will America Wake Up?

     Why is President Obama waiting until after the November 5th national election to grant executive amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in this land?

     There is a simple answer: He knows the vast majority of the American people are opposed to blanket amnesty for the millions of illegals and it will make them mad. Hence, if he granted them amnesty before the election, it could hurt democrats running for reelection.

     Question: If he knows the majority of Americans are opposed to amnesty, why would he go against the will of the American people?

     Answer: Politicians in Washington — including the President — care very little about what WE THE PEOPLE think. They act more like Kings and Dictators than servants of the people, anointed rather than elected.

     “White House officials have said Obama was concerned that moving before the midterm elections (November 5) would make reform a partisan issue and polarize support against it, although the move was widely seen as a concession to Senate Democrats who were locked in tough reelection battles and begged Obama to hold off,” the Weekly Standard reported.

Comment: That is deception to the nth degree. But most Americans are so sound asleep they probably won’t catch on to what the President is doing.

     When will Americans ever wake up?

Obamacare and the Medicaid Crisis

     Large numbers of Americans are enrolling in Medicaid as a result of Obamacare but the Obama administration says the fault lies with state officials who have done little to ensure the new enrollees have access to doctors after they receive their Medicaid cards, the New York Times reports.

     “The report, to be issued this week by the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services, says …Medicaid patients often find that they must wait for months or travel long distances to see a doctor,” the Times pointed out.

     The Inspector General said some eight million people with low incomes have enrolled in the program and the Congressional Budget Office predicts that sometime in 2014, one in  four Americans will be on Medicaid at some time during the year.

     Interestingly, about the same number — eight million — of people have enrolled in Obamacare.

Leon Panetta: Contra Barack Obama

     Newsmax quotes Former CIA director and democrat leader Leon Panetta saying that President Obama turned down multiple warnings that if all American troops were withdrawn from Iraq, the country could slip back into anarchy and become a terrorist haven.

     In his soon-to-be-released book Worthy Fights,Panetta “was among those arguing forcefully for some troops to remain to help protect gains that the U.S. had paid dearly for in eight years of fighting,” Newsmax points out.

     “To this day,” Panetta writes in his book, “I believe that a small U. S. troop presence in Iraq could have effectively advised the Iraqi military on how to deal with al-Qaida’s resurgence and the sectarian violence that has engulfed the country.”

Comment: During an interview with 60 Minutes last Sunday, the President threw all his intelligence advisors under the bus. He said the people in intelligence dropped the ball and didn’t give him accurate information on the threat of ISIS. However, documents reveal those same people — including Panetta and James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence — did give him several warnings about ISIS but that he disregarded their warnings.

Blame, Deny and Wait It Out?

     According to the National Journal, President Obama’s strategy on most every issue is to deny a problem exists or blame the problem on someone else– then just wait it out. And so far, that strategy has worked pretty good. But it’s beginning to unravel and his web of deceit is being exposed.

     “The president is the captain of the ship and should assume accountability.”

     The Journal went on to say although there have been a number of second-term controversies, the President has counted on the American people having very short memories, the Journal pointed out.

     “The time-tested strategy for Obama: Claim he’s in the dark about his own administration’s activities, blame the mess on subordinates, and hope that with the passage of time, all will be forgotten,” the Journal said.

     The President’s latest eyebrow-raiser was on 60 Minutes on Sunday. He blamed the failure to anticipate the rise of ISIS on all of his intelligence advisors.

     But as the Journal pointed out, just about everyone in America except the President knew about the rise and dangers of ISIS.

     NBC foreign affairs correspondent Richard Engle said, “It’s surprising that the president said the U. S. intelligence missed this one. Everyone knew the Islamic extremists were on the rise in Syria and in Iraq; it was well documented. Journalists, including us (NBC), were interviewing foreign fighters. This was no state secret.”

President Is AWOL — on Security Briefings

     A new Government Accountability Institute report notes that President Obama has attended only 42.1 percent of his daily intelligence briefings during his six years in office.

     One security staff member said that the President had received intelligence reports on the rise of ISIS as far back as 2012.

     After U. S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American staff members were murdered in Benghazi, the White House’s presidential calendar revealed the President had not attended his daily intel briefings in the five consecutive days leading up to the Benghazi attacks.

Comment: President Obama is a very enigmatic leader who seems much more at home with Beyonce and Jay-Z, Ludricus and other rappers, the Hollywood crowd, and on the golf course, than handling the affairs of state.

     He also feels more at home with Muslims and transgenders — for whom he often hosts dinners at the White House — than with any other groups in our society.

     I personally believe he has made so many mistakes that he now is facing a total meltdown and has no idea how to govern this land. And that’s too bad for he will be President for two more years.

NO MAN LEFT BEHIND

            I believe the Navy Seals started it, but by now every branch of the US military service declares and reflects the spirit of the slogan, “No man left behind;” it reflects the spirit of the services themselves.  Unfortunately, the government under whom they serve does not reflect this spirit. 

            United States Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi has been a captive of the Mexican Government.  His crime?  The Afghanistan war vet went to San Diego seeking treatment for his battlefield related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  He had three guns in his truck – legal in the States but not permitted in Mexico.  He made a wrong turn and ended up in a border crossing lane with no U turns.  The law abiding Marine found himself unintentionally in Mexico and went to a parked police vehicle.  He asked help re-crossing the border and volunteered that he had guns in the vehicle and no intention of violating Mexican law – or even being in Mexico.  He was promptly arrested, thrown in prison, and has spent the last few months in solitary confinement.  He has had access to Mexican attorneys but the administration of Barack Obama has been deafeningly silent.  There has been no trial, but two judicial hearings have resulted in his being sent back to solitary, a punishment reserved in all nations for particularly troublesome prisoners.  The kind who turn themselves in while asking for help, apparently.

            While the sergeant is abandoned by his national government the governor of California flies to Mexico City to negotiate trade agreements for California with Mexico’s President Nieto.  Governor Brown utters not a word on behalf of the war hero held in solitary, but he does a victory dance over the success of his trade missions.  He is negotiating with the nation that floods our land with illegal drugs and the illegal people whose passage and survival here it facilitates.  Mexico is known for her harsh treatment of illegals within her own borders, but gives safe passage to the Central Americans now crossing Mexico on their way here.  Many of these illegals are children and families, but many are notorious gangsters; still others are members of Mexico’s own drug cartels.  Should not Governor Brown say, “President Nieto, I will trust you enough to treat with you when you return the American citizen you hold without trial?”  Instead he invites Nieto to Sacramento for a grand celebration planned for August 26.

            Assembly Member Tim Donnelly plans a demonstration in front of the governor’s mansion at 11:15 AM, Tuesday, August 26. The mansion is located at 800 N Street in Sacramento.  Donnelly – readers will remember – ran a wildly successful primary campaign for the Republican gubernatorial nomination; he led all the polls until carpetbagger Neil Kashkari ingratiated himself with Republican money men and came in second in the primary solely through funding.  Donnelly plans to make a public demand for the release of Sergeant Tahmooressi.  My prayer is that thousands of Californians will join him in front of the mansion; I most certainly will be there with him.

            Tahmooressi is not the only Marine left behind in Mexico.  Corporal Armando Torres was kidnapped at gunpoint – with his father and uncle in May 2013 – by cartel members while visiting his father’s ranch near Ciudad Juarez.  Our government has been just as silent in his case.

            We sent in the SEALs to take Bin Laden without a care for another nation’s sovereignty – as we should – when that nation is harboring the murderer of three thousand Americans.  But why do we not send in the SEALs when captive Americans are alive and expecting their government to do its primary job of bringing them home from captivity?  If Mexico wants our respect, let her do the right thing; if not, let there be an international incident.  It would certainly clear the air.

              The Word of God says Jesus Christ came to set the captives free; it is a recurrent New Testament theme.  But, we say, that refers to spiritual freedom.  Reality is freedom is freedom, or it is not; it cannot be boxed or compartmentalized.  The Great Commission calls us to be ambassadors of this God of freedom, whether releasing others in Him from the bondage of sin, the bondage of an oppressive government, a rigged electoral or economic system, or a culture of self-indulgence.  It requires one thing from us and that is to choose to repent – re-focus and re-submit our lives to Him – so we can receive His earthquake life and live from now on not just for His goals but in His methods.  Only then will no man ever again be left behind.

Hooray for Governor Rick Perry

     Finally, someone in public office has the courage to stand up and say, “Enough is enough.”

     Governor Perry will send 1,000 National Guard troops to the border with Mexico to stop the tens of thousands of illegals — including thousands of children — coming into this land as well as immigrant gang members.

     The Governor says he’s been trying to get President Obama to do something about the border for several years yet nothing has been done.

     Contrariwise, the President and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid continue to say the “border is secure.”

     Governor Perry appeared on the Sean Hannity television program and made a startling statement — illegals coming into Texas have committed 3,000 rapes and 8,000 murders in the past five years.

     He says the “details of the criminal activity” are so catastrophic that “we can’t wait on Washington.”

     Comment: Former Border Patrol Chief Ronald Coburn says one in five of all illegals coming into this land have violent criminal records These are not illegals with parking tickets or shoplifting. These people are rapists, murderers, drug dealers, and gang members.

     Yet, what do we hear from the President? He won’t even go to the border to see the catastrophe. Rather, he just wants to grant amnesty to all of them regardless of the consequences.

     There is a better solution — deport all the illegals who do not have valid work permits. Then make sure employers provide health insurance for the workers so they won’t bankrupt our healthcare system.

A Footnote

     The Obama administration announced on Thursday that they are considering sending planes to Honduras to pick up more children and bring them to America so they won’t have to walk hundreds of miles to our southern border.

     Although details are sketchy at this time, it is believed once the children are in the U.S., the President would grant them amnesty.

     There is no information on how much it will cost, what will become of the children once they arrive here, what welfare benefits they will receive, where they will be educated (since they do not speak English) and how many hundreds or thousands will be considered in the amnesty program. Neither are we told if the President plans to bring children from other countries. Story is unfolding.

Who’s in Charge in Washington?

     Has anyone seen the President lately? He’s been AWOL for some time. He’s been crisscrossing the country three days a week giving fundraising speeches for Senate democrats up for reelection.

     Americans are falling from the skies over the Ukraine as President Putin of Russia and his thugs are shooting down airplanes (23 American citizens died in the recent  plane crash); swarms of illegals are crossing the border into the U.S, as the border is not now, nor has it ever been, secure; Hamas has fired more than 2,000 rockets into Israel (more than likely funded by the $3.6 billion our government gave the Palestinian National Authority of which Hamas is now affiliated); and Russia is on the verge of an all-out attack on the Ukraine.

     So what does the President do? He refuses to go to the border to see the devastation first hand, plays golf when he’s in Washington, drinks beer and plays pool in Colorado and eats hamburgers in Delaware.

     He soon will begin a 15-day vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.

     To make matters worse, Congress just adjourned for a five-week vacation.

     So who’s in charge? I don’t know. The President is AWOL and Congress just went home.

     We need a major house cleaning in Washington.

EBT/Food Stamp Cards and a Culture of Corruption

     WE THE PEOPLE spend $80 billion each year on EBT (the cards replaced food stamps) cards that allegedly allows the poor to purchase food.

     However, as in so many other areas, there is little accountability on the part of the card users. Although the cards are to purchase food only, the users have violated the USDA guidelines in creative ways. They have used the cards in tobacco shops, liquor stores, casinos, strip clubs, race tracks, tattoo parlors and even at Disney World resorts.

     This week we learned that the people of Colorado are using the cards to purchase marijuana, just weeks after voters approved sales in the state. According to National Review, beneficiaries of the EBT cards have used the cards 259 times to purchase pot.

     So what’s the problem? Little oversight and typical lack of government accountability.

     But most of it is the government’s fault. They fail to deal with the pathologies of human nature and allow the card holders to use them as they will. They take few precautions to make sure the taxpayers’ funds are not wasted or misused.

     For instance, I found the following information from the USDA that administers the program. They extend a hearty welcome to the EBT card users and give them detailed information on how to use the cards to purchase food. That’s okay.

     But they also give them detailed information on how to use the card to get cash back at supermarkets or cash from ATM machines.

     The GOVERNMENT shows them exactly how to do it!

     Hence, the fraudulent purchases.

     Comment: When President John F. Kennedy initiated the national food stamp program it was for a worthy purpose — to feed hungry people. But, like most programs, they become large, expensive, uncontrollable and filled with fraud and waste.

     Today we have $80 billion a year floating around and no one knows for sure just how much of it is spent on food.

Arizona Governor Brewer vs. Phoenix Suns Owner

      Last week Robert Sarver the owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team hammered Governor Brewer and the state’s immigration law that would require identification.

     The feisty Governor issued the following statement in response to Sarver’s criticism:

     “What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus non-paying attendees couldn’t be ejected. Furthermore, what if the Sun’s ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?” ~Governor Jan Brewer.

     Comment: It’s strange that Attorney General Eric Holder files suit against any state — including Arizona — that requires all voters to present identification. Holder says it discriminates against minorities.

     But on a personal note, I have to show my ID when I renew my driver’s license; open a bank account; apply for a passport and a visa; when I use my credit cards at department stores; and others.

Working the Welfare System

     Remember back in 2012 when Governor Mitt Romney said that far too many people have become dependent on government land by learning how to work the system.

     The owner of a Ford dealership learned firsthand what Romney was talking about. He said a lady came into his showroom and said she wanted to lease a brand new Focus. As he looked at her credit app, he noticed she was on social security disability.

     “You don’t look like you’re disabled and unable to work,” he commented.

     “Well, I’m really not. I could work if I wanted to, but I make more now than I did when I was working and got hurt…” 

     She then explained that the government sends her $1,500 a month for her disability and she gets $700 a month on an EBT card (food stamps), and $800 a month for rent.

     “Oh yeah, and 250 minutes free on my phone.”

     She told him that when she was working she was taking home $330 a week and that she’s much better off receiving disability and welfare checks.

     Comment: Think about it — why should she go back to work? When you multiply her income by millions of others, you begin to see the scope of the problem we face in this land.

Military Can Only Find a Few Good Men

     More than two-thirds of America’s young people would fail to qualify for military service, the Wall Street Journal reports, because of physical, behavioral or educational shortcomings.

     According to the newspaper, this poses serious “challenges to building the next generation of soldiers even as the U. S. draws down troops from conflict zones.”

     “The military deems many youngsters ineligible due to obesity, lack of a high-school diploma, felony convictions and prescription-drug use for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder,” the Journal reported. “But others are now also running afoul of standards for appearance amid the growing popularity of large scale tattoos” and other appearance problems.

Keystone Pipeline, Canadian Oil and China

     The Canadian government has approved a major new pipeline to the Pacific Coast that would allow the country’s oil to be shipped to China and other Asian countries, the Associated Press reports.

     According to AP, the approval was expected since Prime Minister Stephen Harper has favored the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline after the U. S. delayed a decision on building the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline from Alberta to the U. S. Gulf Coast.

     The Northern Gateway pipeline will transport 525,000 barrels of oil a day from Alberta’s oil sands to the Pacific to giant oil tankers from oil-hungry China and other Asian countries, the news service said.

     Comment: It’s a shame that the President continues to pander to the powerful environmental lobby in Washington. He has held up the pipeline for years and apparently has no plans to approve its construction.

     Comment: There are always consequences for our actions. Keystone would provide 40,000 jobs immediately and greatly reduce our dependence on foreign oil. But politics and agendas trump common sense and the will of the majority of the people.

The VA Mess and the Future of ACA Healthcare

     Retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson believes the Veterans Administration scandal gives us a picture of what nationalized healthcare will be like when handled by the Washington bureaucracy.

     “I think what’s happening with the veterans…shows us what happens when you take layers and layers of bureaucracy and place them between the patients and the healthcare provider,” Dr. Carson said.

     He added, “And if we can’t get it right, with the relatively small number of veterans, how in the world are you going to do it with the entire population? You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out.”

     Dr.  Carson, 62, an African American, retired last summer as chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
